Participants
The individual counselling service is aimed at foreign-language jobseekers who are unable to take part in the collective „WSI“ course for personal reasons, for example:
- Lack of time availability (e.g. interim earnings or no childcare during course times)
- Insufficient knowledge of German: Jobseekers cannot speak, understand, read or write simple German
In addition, the following requirements apply:
- With or without professional qualifications
- Labour market availability between 20% and 100%
- Motivation to participate is present
Aim of individual counselling
You will learn the basics of written and verbal job applications. At the end of the counselling session, they will have complete, up-to-date application documents and will have practised a job interview.
Contents and course objectives
- Checkup of application documents and personal situation
- Definition of the application strategy
- Preparation of the CV incl. current photo
- Preparation of application letters (speculative and job advertisement applications)
- Handover of the application documents on a USB stick
- Instructions for sending application documents (active & reactive) via PC or mobile phone
- Training for telephone calls and job interviews, including dealing with tricky questions
- Optional: Sending an application via smartphone (for tech-savvy participants)
Duration of individual counselling
- 7 appointments between 1-1.5 hours (8.5 hours in total) within 2 months
- Smaller homework assignments need to be completed between appointments
Costs
- The costs are covered by unemployment insurance.
Registration
- Registration takes place via the responsible RAV personnel counselling service.
- The Contiva coach invites the participant to an initial meeting; further appointments are arranged individually.
